Description
A very rare, large, William & Mary silver tankard with a hinged cover. Boasting a cylindrical, plain, hammered body, typical of the period, with extremely rare teardrop beading on the lid and handle. The tankard has an excellent patina and a wonderful lion crest on the cover and bears an ornate cast thumb piece. The body has original hand engraved initials and the base has a historic inscription dated 1690.
